StoryDays Support

We are a small team and we read every message. If something is not working, or you just want to ask, write to support@storydays.app and we will reply within 2 business days.

When you write, it helps enormously if you include:

  • your device (for example “iPhone 13, iOS 18.4”)
  • the app version — you will find it in Settings ▸ About
  • what you expected to happen, and what happened instead

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so cancelling happens in your Apple account. The fastest route is inside the app: open Settings ▸ Subscription and tap Manage or cancel — it opens your App Store subscription settings directly.

You can also do it from iOS: Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Subscriptions ▸ StoryDays ▸ Cancel Subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date, or the next period will already have been charged. After cancelling you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.

Will I lose my photos and memories if I cancel?

No. Nothing you have created is deleted, hidden or locked when a subscription ends. The app returns to the free plan’s limits for creating new items, and everything you have already recorded stays available to open, play, edit, export and delete.

I paid but the app still says I am on the free plan

Try, in this order:

  1. Open Settings ▸ Subscription and tap Restore at the top of the screen.
  2. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase.
  3. Make sure you are signed in to the same StoryDays account. A subscription is tied to your account, so signing in with a different email will not show it.
  4. Close the app fully and reopen it.

If none of that works, email us with the Apple ID email you purchased with and we will sort it out.

I want a refund

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, and we cannot issue them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you tell us what went wrong we will happily support your request.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Delete Account.

We will ask you to confirm, and — if any photos exist only inside the app — offer to save them to your Photos library first, so you do not lose them. Deleting removes your account, every child profile, and all photos, videos, recordings, journal entries and records attached to them. We begin deleting immediately and finish within 30 days.

Cancelling your subscription is separate, and stays with Apple — deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel first if you are paying.

If you no longer have the app installed, email support@storydays.app with the subject line “Delete my account” from the address you signed up with, and we will verify it is you and process it.

How do I get a copy of my data?

Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Export my data. It produces a machine-readable copy of everything the app holds about you.

The app cannot find photos of my child

The photo search looks at the photos stored on your phone, and it runs on your phone — your library is never uploaded to find matches.

A few things that commonly explain an empty result:

  • Photo access. Check iOS Settings ▸ StoryDays ▸ Photos is set to All Photos. If it is set to Selected Photos, the app can only see the ones you picked — you can add more from the notice the app shows you.
  • Reference photos. The app needs a few clear photos of your child’s face to learn from. You can add or change them in the app.
  • Photos only in iCloud. Photos that are not downloaded to this device are skipped rather than downloaded, so they do not use your data or storage. They are picked up once they are on the device; the app re-checks weekly.
  • A large library takes a while. The first scan of several thousand photos is not instant. It continues in the background and saves as it goes, so you can leave the screen.

Can I use StoryDays without giving it my photos?

Yes. Photo access is optional and you can decline it. Milestones, growth records, the journal, time capsules, keepsakes and audio memories all work without it.

Does StoryDays share my child’s photos with anyone?

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. Face detection and face grouping run entirely on your device, and the face descriptors the app creates are never uploaded.

What does reach our servers is what you choose to save to your account — the photos, videos, recordings and notes you add — so it can sync to your own devices. It is kept in private storage that only your account can read.

The full detail, including every company that processes data on our behalf, is in our Privacy Policy.

I am not receiving notifications

  1. iOS Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ StoryDays — check they are allowed.
  2. In the app, check Settings ▸ Notifications — each kind can be turned on and off separately.
  3. Check Focus or Do Not Disturb is not filtering them.

How do I change the language?

The app follows your device language and supports English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi. Change it in iOS Settings ▸ StoryDays ▸ Language.

(Our Terms and Privacy Policy are published in English only for now.)

Is my child’s growth data medical advice?

No. StoryDays is a record keeper, not a medical device. It does not diagnose anything and it is not a substitute for your pediatrician. Growth charts and any information the app shows are for your own reference — always talk to a health professional about your child’s health.

Privacy, security and legal

  • Privacy Policy
  • Terms of Service

To exercise a privacy right — access, correction, export, deletion, or withdrawing consent — most of it is self-service in Settings ▸ Privacy. For anything else, email support@storydays.app and we will respond within 30 days.

If you believe a child’s data has reached us without a parent or guardian’s involvement, please tell us and we will delete it.

Reporting a security issue

If you think you have found a security or privacy vulnerability, please email support@storydays.app with the subject line “Security” and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it publicly. We will acknowledge your report within 2 business days.
